3-day training that will allow you to support new parents in their postnatal period.
You will see in detail all the practice of day and night reports and postnatal support.
The training is given by Camille Maheu, the owner of Les Premiers Moments.
Camille is a companion, pre/postnatal doula, perinatal naturopath, president of the Association Québécoise des Doulas and launched Les Premiers Moments in 2017.
Since then, the LPM team has done more than 5000 hours of relevailles day and night and has hired around twenty postnatal assistants.
The part on breastfeeding is optional, to allow people who already have training in breastfeeding not to repeat the information.
We cover:
- the nutritional needs of the baby and the parents
- the basics of breastfeeding
- the basics of breastfeeding
- emotional and physical ties
- milk production
- how to relieve congestion
- how to prepare breastmilk bottles
- how to prepare bottles for PCNs
For the 2 and a half days, as well as the courses: $495+txs
For the 3 full days and the courses: $595+txs
Here is the course schedule over the 3 days:
DAY 1 9 a.m. to 17 p.m.:
-Group presentation
-History and context
- Empathetic communication
-Day releases
-Night shifts
-Mental health
-The helping relationship
DAY 2 half day 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.:
-The needs of parents
-The needs and care of the newborn
-Special relapses: cesarean section, twins, etc.
Optional additional block 13 p.m. to 16 p.m.:
-Breastfeeding and nutrition (3 hours)
DAY 3 9 a.m. to 17 p.m.:
-The limit of our knowledge
-Perinatal workers
-Launch your practice-The accompanying person's equipment
-The portage
-Safety techniques and manipulations
-Situation
In addition to the 3 days of training, students will have to do 2 internships to obtain their certificate, i.e. 2 visits of 3 hours or 2 nights with the same family.
