Our Story
Based in Montreal, Les Premiers Moments was created in June 2017 by Camille Maheu, doula, naturopath in perinatal care and vice-president of the Quebec Association of Birth Support Women.
It was the lack of inclusive representation and general openness in the birthing community that led Camille to launch this project. Now, many doulas identify with the values that Les Premiers Moments promotes and decide to work on them as a team.

Camille Maheu, founder of Les Premiers Moments
Camille Maheu began her perinatal journey in Madagascar, providing health care to women who could not afford a hospital birth. It was in the city of Diego-Suarez that his taste for community work took on its full meaning.
Camille was then able to testify to the strength of the human body, the will of mothers and the difference that confidence can make during childbirth.
Available in many regions already, you will find the same excellent services and the same vision: that births in Quebec be experienced in a positive way and tinged with confidence in the abilities of parents.
By supporting pregnant people and couples during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period, we want to bequeath the knowledge and confidence that everyone can have during their transition to parenthood. We have an inclusive vision of our company, we hope to offer a service that reflects this through our empathy, our respect and our openness. Camille, the founder, is fluent in LSQ (Quebec sign language) and wishes to be able to bridge the gap between the Quebec hospital system and the deaf community. As a result, all of our services are offered in LSQ, as well as in French and English.

Our team
We don't have a preconceived idea of the perfect family or the perfect birth. Like us, our clients have very special lives and we just want to make them feel at home, whether they are reading this text or being accompanied by one of our doulas.
